The parents and carers of children and young people who face life limiting illnesses can spend long days and nights caring for their loved ones without attending to their own needs. During 2015 Forward Facing organised a series of Pamper Days, funded through Comic Relief, for parents/carers. They have two purposes: to give parents a well earned break and chance to relax and be pampered; and the opportunity to meet others in similar circumstances.
In 2015 we held a Pamper Day at the Virgin Gym Health Spa at Falmer. Eight mums took the chance to have pedicures, facials and massages and share experiences over lunch. In December 2015 eleven mums went to Queen Hair and Beauty in the centre of Brighton for pampering over fizzy wine and nibbles.
We have arranged for Dads to go to the football matches with their friends for much needed male bonding time and also have sent children and family members to many football matches.
Thanks to Bobbi Brown in Brighton for hosting our May 2016 Pamper Day!
